A Message to the Georgetown Texas Community

At Georgetown Counseling and Wellness we are so very proud of the work we do with our clients and within the wider community. We wanted to take some time to allow others in the Georgetown TX area to get to know our group therapy practice a little better. In our latest blog, we hear from Rachel Saenger LPC-S, LMFT-S, founder of Georgetown Counseling and Wellness. One of our dedicated therapists, Kristie Lensing, LPC, also takes the time to answer some of our questions.

A Note From Rachel Saenger, LPC-S, Lmft-S, Founder of Georgetown Counseling and Wellness

“Georgetown Counseling and Wellness was founded in April 2019. It was born from realizing a need for more comprehensive mental health services in the area, and it evolved to help meet more of those needs.”

- Rachel Saenger LPC-S, LMFT-S, founder of Georgetown Counseling and Wellness

At the practice, we work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families to help our clients heal from past wounds, learn new, more effective ways to deal with big feelings, communicate better with loved ones, and become more confident and hopeful in their relationships.

We work to help our clients create or regain the life they want. With that goal in mind, we have a holistic body, mind and spirit approach to our services. We work not just with thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, but we believe that change also involves practicing skills like breathwork, meditation, yoga and when it’s an option, leaning on one’s own spiritual beliefs.

I often teach my clients a practice of tapping acupressure points on the face and shoulders to trigger the body’s natural healing processes and find relief from stress, tension, and anxiety.

Although we work with a variety of issues, the core of the work we do is helping our clients find relief from depression and anxiety. I personally enjoy helping clients navigate through difficult life transitions such as a death, divorce, starting a new job or school program, or going from one life stage to another.

We help our clients move from feeling alone and stuck in their feelings to having more freedom to choose new ways to think about themselves and communicate with their loved ones. We enjoy and value seeing our clients feel more seen, heard and understood in our work with them, and witnessing them gain more feelings of wellbeing and confidence.

Our Q&A With Kristie Lensing, LPC

Who Do You Work With?

I work with adults of all ages. I also work with children ages 6 and up, the in-between years, and teenagers.

What Is Your Treatment Philosophy?

I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow. Creating a safe and non-judgmental space for my client to explore what is important to them is very important to me.

Why Did You Become a Counselor?

I became a counselor because I wanted to have an opportunity to provide the same kind of non-judgmental and respectful help that I have received in my life.

What Do You Most Enjoy About Your Work?

I enjoy being able to witness clients’ personal growth and strengthen the relationships in their lives.

If You Could Meet Any Author, Who Would It Be and Why?

I would want to meet Paulo Coelho, the author of The Alchemist. His writing has a depth of emotion and adventure that really draws you into the story.

Do You Have Any Hobbies?

I like to hike in Central Texas, Northern New Mexico, and walk the trails in my neighborhood. I also love gardening and spending time with family and friends.

At Georgetown Counseling and Wellness we provide a compassionate space for you to tell your story and fully acknowledge your reality, utilizing proven treatment techniques. In light of COVID-19, we are now offering telehealth sessions over HIPAA-compliant video chat platforms. If you would like to know more about our services, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
