Professional Counseling Services with a specialized focus on treatment of anxiety and depression

For Children, Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families

I am a licensed professional counselor/supervisor and a licensed marriage and family therapist/supervisor, specializing in individual, couples and family counseling. My practice is in Georgetown, TX.

As a counselor I create a warm, supportive, and safe environment in which my clients can move from feeling stuck, isolated or conflicted in some area of life to feeling more connected, joyful and successful. I specialize in relational and mindfulness/somatic therapies, working with a broad range of clients.

Among my areas of expertise are anxiety and depression treatment, relationship concerns, family changes, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, and parent-child counseling with children/adolescents and parents. I've trained in Gottman Marriage Counseling, and work with couples to enhance communication and relationship satisfaction.

I am also certified in Trauma-Conscious Yoga, Emotional Freedom Techniques and incorporate many mindfulness techniques in my counseling services.

In my work with clients of all ages, I believe in defining goals and then working toward these goals through deepening understanding of feelings in oneself and others, exploring new ways of thinking about yourself,

understanding others' realities and learning better coping strategies.

My approach is uniquely tailored to each client or family; I provide support, acceptance, and encouragement to my clients, but also challenge mistaken beliefs about one's self and others that can hold clients back from feeling successful. My goal is to help my clients feel more confident, successful and connected to others.

My clients often seek counseling because they are disappointed by a partner, child or job, and are unsure how to make changes to improve quality of life and relationships. Sometimes clients seek counseling to heal from relationships and events that have caused emotional pain, and sometimes for personal insight and growth.

When your vision of how you want your life to be doesn't match with your reality, we can work together to help you find new insight, hope and the tools to make positive changes in your life.

"Joy, rather than happiness, is the goal of life, for joy is the emotion which accompanies our  fulfilling our natures as human beings. It is based on the experience of one's identity as a being of worth and dignity."
